Woodbridge station has a sign up saying no bikes on Sunday and mac of 4 per carriage on Saturday so I wouldn't look to use as an alternative. However I think it has been "ignored" in the past

Also looking for a coach ticket/some sort of bike transport for a friend and I!

Scotrail allow you to book tickets online with Bike Reservation. Unfortunately, the earliest one left available was 1601 so we are off to the Butt & Oyster in Pin Mill for until then. Anyone with time to kill, I can't recommend this pub enough. Open from 0900 and serving food all day!

Has anyone else had problems booking their bike on the train to get there? I've only just decided to do it as am not working for once and when speaking to greater anglia about the train I'm getting on Saturday they said my place is discretionary with the conductor. I hope he/she is nice

Hey everybody, I have two coach tickets available as I can't make it now.
Happy to let them go for a forum donation.
£10 each or £15 the pair.
That sound okay?*edit - it's for a pair only I realise.

Evening folks, I'm travelling down from Glasgow for this for the 2nd year having ridden fixed last year. Unfortunately my London based riding bud is looking 50/50 at best due to illness therefore I'll likely be riding alone (or bailing and foregoing £110 worth of sleeper tickets).
A scoot on the Glasgow sub forum looks like there's no riders travelling down for this, so would be good to hook up with likeminded riders at some point throughout the night.
Beers, burgers and bantz on the beach sounds like a good shout.
On the plus side, I 'may' have a spare return coach ticket; unfortunately won't probably know for definite until Saturday morning. -

@jonny and I rode to Diss a few years ago. It was a lovely journey in great company, and there was plenty of room on the train.
If they try to boot you off, just say you have never heard of the Dunwich Dynamo and argue why should you be penalised for some bike race.
If they still don't let you on, then don't forget you have your own transport right between your legs, and ride back :0)

Not ridden it for a few years now (seven maybe?), but love following each years thread.
Maybe next year is what I say every year!

When I booked my ticket a month ago a lot of the reservations were already full. I had to take one on the 17:30 in the end (this is from Norwich). The previous year the compartment was absolutely rammed with bikes so I think if you were there early enough to get your bike one first then there will be many more obscuring it. I attached my reservation to the bike but there were a lot that didn't have them.

yeah, last time I rode it was with you Sam. 2010. Was a great call to roll on to Diss after. Good memories

That's nice of Greater Anglia. Instead of making additional provisions, they reduce their existing ones especially.
FWIW I got a train back from Stowmarket, with a change at Ipswich on the Sunday afternoon and was totally fine. Didn't see any other Dun runners, in fact.
Only if the bridges over the large rivers and drains are down. Otherwise I'd say it's pretty smooth rolling for any large armoured vehicle. And just remember, think the bridge will be there and it will be there. It's a mother beautiful bridge.
