  • What's the name of the type of rims with diamond shaped holes/dimples along the brake track?

    I think that was just a pattern some makers used in an attempt to improve the braking performance of steel rims.

    Not sure that it has any name that you could search for.

  • Mmm damn thanks. I was sure that some old French companies did it. Long and short customer in the local bike cafe is after a matching pair, for the old Atom hubs.

  • I expect a lot of companies made them, I just meant that AFAIK it doesn't have a particular name or term, so you'll have to trawl eBay or check Velobase and find some (like MCamb posted) and then search for them.
