Is "World Track Cyclist" the new "Semi Pro"?
-

World Track Cyclist.
I guess he lives in the world and is a track cyclist. Accurate.
British Cycling.
Clearly is a cyclist (look at the bike), and clearly lives in Britain (look at the car numberplate).
All checks out as far as I'm concerned.

Just for comparison, I've worked with Chris Hoy a couple of times, man is as modest as they come.

I'm sitting about 600 miles away from the man, and I'm scared just knowing people so capable of manipulating reality to this extent move among us. Fuck knows what would happen if I ever met him but it would probably involve pre-emptively throwing him in an oven and disposing of the ashes at sea.

I genuinely think these guys are unwell and perhaps left alone to these delusions. I suppose no one's being harmed and were it not for this obsession they'd be up to pursuits more sinister.

I hear you and you're probably right, I just find it morbidy fascinating and love a bit of ranty hyperbole.
I guess you have the same argument with people that pretend to be ex-servicemen etc though-It's pretty dishonest even if nobody is physically hurt by it and it's easy to see why people like Tony Gibb are pissed off with it.

I'm more upset about his use of 'myself' when surely it should be 'me', or even worse, 'I'.
huge success for myself
Tests showed myself, now 52, had the potential to be a World Class cyclist in the velodrome and that became my goal.

No, we really don't need another vindictive thread about a delusional but harmless idiot. Took long enough for the last one to die down.

Took long enough for the last one to die down.
Only because my requested to closed it got denied several times.
This tickle me;
"Normally this accreditation takes between 10 months and a year to complete – I had acquired this in six weeks! Bikes geared for the velodrome are near impossible for mere mortals – the gearing is so high that you need immense leg power and perfectly efficient technique, your legs need to work dead straight up and down like pistons to avoid unbalancing the bike."

Whatever you do, DON'T LEAN Chris.

Glad someone brought it up

I'm watching today's Tour stage but I can't see Chris anywhere? Is he not competing this year?
-

He was but, being the legend he is, he was just about to catch Valverde for a minute, saw him crash and gave up his own chances to stop and help the medical team diagnose and then treat Valverde's injuries. His fluent Spanish and German made him invaluable in a critical situation.
His team made an appeal to the UCI judges to allow him to start tomorrow, but the bastards rejected it. Unbelievable.

But you forgot to include 'himself' instead of 'he' for full valiant hero linguistic status.

Obviously vindictive thread is obviously vindictively threadself.

Myself, unlike yourself, (at the end of the day), am quietly confident in-and comfortable with-the eventual possibility of a mildly vindictive, bordering on spiteful, persecution of unproven unfortunates professing to be professional athletes to all and sundry, blagging sponsorship for shoes, product placements for products and endorsing endorsements. What is proven, is that they're certified pellets and in the inimitable words of the inimitable James Vardy (and myself) "chat shit get banged."

Working at the velodrome I see a lot of this kinda thing and had become a bit blind to it but yeah, that Chris guy is kicking the arse out of it int he!

Totally nuclear mayne.
I don't get it. BC results for 2016 show him as a Cat C rider with 31 points (for coming second last in one 50-54 TT?) as a Cat 3 rider, but he's riding around in this:
