Just for comparison, I've worked with Chris Hoy a couple of times, man is as modest as they come.

I'm sitting about 600 miles away from the man, and I'm scared just knowing people so capable of manipulating reality to this extent move among us. Fuck knows what would happen if I ever met him but it would probably involve pre-emptively throwing him in an oven and disposing of the ashes at sea.

I'm watching today's Tour stage but I can't see Chris anywhere? Is he not competing this year?

He was but, being the legend he is, he was just about to catch Valverde for a minute, saw him crash and gave up his own chances to stop and help the medical team diagnose and then treat Valverde's injuries. His fluent Spanish and German made him invaluable in a critical situation.

His team made an appeal to the UCI judges to allow him to start tomorrow, but the bastards rejected it. Unbelievable.
