Although you criticised its aero properties...

Damn! Got a Zipp 808. I won't be using for a while - You know anyone travelling up to the event from Bournemouth/Dorset?
It's got a 20c Supersonic on it, and I am NOT removing that. Took me about 40mins to put the fucker on.
edit - Just checked the SS and there's a couple from my club riding it, so might be able to bring it up for you.

You could try cold Heinz tomato soup straight from the tin, I've had that for dinner at approx 2130 when stopping to put lights and a warm top on.
Andy Wilkinson talks about white bread sandwiches with peanut butter and honey.
Water bottles full of tea later on in the race are quite nice as well. You do need to keep getting stuff down though.
I really like Mulebars - Mango Tango flavour, although even they can start to grate when you open up the 20th one...

The one thing I am trying to work out about the 24 is what to do about eating at night.
Over the years, the main thing which has stuck in my mind from hearing comments from 24h riders is to have all the things available in the pits, because you never know what you're going to fancy/tolerate.

Agreed.
Try not to stop for too long though, time is money (well, miles...)

I would've entered this just to get one CTT race in this year but I think I missed the cutoff by ooh about a month.

Trying to make my flo's tubeless with corsa speedss, rear was successful at the first go, front I didn't put as much tape on and it's much harder to get the valve on tight due to the fairing, briefly held 100psi but the gap at the valve was too big and eventually all the air came out, will try again tomorrow!

Speaking of tubeless...
I see Aerocoach have tested a TL set-up to be equal to a latex tube, so is it reasonable to think TL without sealant is going to roll faster?
Assuming IDGAF about punctures.

TL without sealant
I don't think Corsa Speeds will work without sealant, they are missing key sealing components found on proper tubeless designs.
-
• #16037
Ah, I wondered if there was a technical requirement to use sealant, but hadn't considered it might be the tyres.

As if I would sit up to eat. Rookie.
Nice work! Especially on a fixieskidder on that potholebastardcourse.

it does prove that regular training has more benefit than drinking beer
which proves that training is all different strokes for different folks :)

so are any other forumites doing the national 100, I know about me and @umop3pisdn are and guess @clubman will be out taking snaps/doing media duties for Hounslow?
Looking forward to it, think I've got everything sorted, a bit nervous that my bike will hold together given reports from the 12hr a few weeks ago, but I've been through plenty of pot hols in the last few weeks wit no movement so no reason to think there will be a problem.

What bars have you got?
I'm currently feeling burnt out. Will be happy with anything sub-4.

zupa vuka (the new version)
Not surprised, but sure you'll find a second wind!
anything sub 4 will leave me very happy indeed, not sure where I am right now, and in reality will have to adapt my plan around the speed I put out on the first lap!

Have had 2 months off the TT bike after disaster in the Brecon Beacons, so started training last night in earnest for September. Feels pretty odd!
Priority event is to try again on the R25/3H on the 10th of September. However I don't know whether to:
a) have a crack at the F11/10 the weekend before and try for a '10 pb
b) try to get a ride on the E2 instead as a good warmup and potentially another chance to better the pb I set there earlier this year. Both are going to be pretty oversubscribed I presume..

the weather is looking odd for Saturday, with a tailwind on the westbound/downhill/uber crap surface direction, and then a headwind from the other direction, which guess is good as it reduces the misery of the bad surface, but will also mean the other direction is pretty slow.
mywindsock reckons I'm on for 3:59:57, which id take, especially as it forecast 20:42 when I did 20:06 a couple of weeks ago on f11/10, so hopefully its conservative!
@onyerbike if I don't crack 20 before September I'll be on the f11/10 in September, and I want to have a go on the Welsh 25 course at some point, although I'm thinking about giving it a go on the national championships weekend, as I suspect id just about make the cut for it this year and it might be fun to be abel to say I was there if the comp record does go that day.

*Sunday?
(I did almost turn up to the National Hill climb a day early) -
• #16047
doh, yes, that's the one!
thankfully that was just a mistype rather than having the wrong day, would prefer it to be Saturday so it will be over sooner!!

OK, I'm in. Will be my first time trial since the VCL club champs of 1987. Any special prizes for non-aero vintage steel?

I won the Whitewebbs CC 25 on the f10/25 tonight! Granted there were only five entrants, but still...
