Companies that negotiate down negative equity on a property sale... any idea what the reasonable charges are?
One I spoke to is going to set me/ex back £5400, though they can negotiate the NE down to 10-15% They seem very good and competent, but holy cows though.

How much are they negotiating away?

Well, they negotiate down whatever is left after sale.
So say it's 50.000 then can knock it down to 5000-8000.
BUT
in theory you can do it yourself, though the bank is going to play hardball.
So, I am happy to pay a charge but it seems like a lot of money but what's essentially maybe 2 days work for them.
But maybe that's just what it costs. -

Some firms charge for the value in their services, rather than the time it takes them to do the work. How do you think lawyers get rich?!
-

Yeah and I understand that totally.
Just wondering if this is the market rate :)
If it is, cough up and put up job.

I'm trying to specify the size for my bike box, without access to any of my bikes - which is tricky.
Can anyone who is (say) at home and has both bikes and a tape measure work out if I'd get a road bike wheel with a deflated tyre on into a square case that is 63.5cm on each side?
Thanks in advance.
-
• #84522
My tape measure says 67cm would be ideal, 65cm would be tight

Thanks!
The external dimensions of this are 66cm square:
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/transporting-bicycles/s-and-s-machine-hard-bike-case-grey/
Which I suspect means that it's slightly under 65cm internally, I wonder what it actually comes in at.

You'd have to take the tyre off, a typical 622 rim has an OD of 633-635mm

Looking at the packing instructions on the S&S site it appears the wheel goes in with tyre, I wonder if their boxes are made of very narrow gauge plastic?
