  • The rationale is that rims can be made more strong and cheaper without the hook. It is proven to work in MTBs but not yet certain if road tubeless can function without the hook due to higher pressure.

  • Wouldn't call if the future since it's been around for yonks and most automotive industry uses it, and I would go for it for sheer experimenting, but depends on cost. Is the manufacturing cost saving coming to us or simply being pocketed. Wouldn't bother till mainstream or cheaper.
    Like SRAM eagle, would be nice to fuck around with, but I'll only get it when I find a reason to.

  • Hunt seems to use hookless rims for their road disc wheels. I guess they tested it
