  • Anyone have experience of MTB in the Peaks? Thinking of going up to Sheffield mid July and riding out into the wilderness. Maybe a spot of wild camping

  • Buy Vertebrate Publishing's Dark Peak book. Has Cy of Cotic on the cover.

  • So dreamy~

  • o hai again

    So what's good?

  • Greno/Wharncliffe for DH shenaningans.
Lady Cannings for supposedly gentle but utterly exhausting laps.
Blacka Moor for close to Sheffield gnar.
    Rivelin Valley for techy singletrack.
Edale/Castleton/Hope Valley/Ladybower for big hills and views.

Got any dates in mind yet? I'd be tempted to take a day off work.

  • Such option!

Looking at 13th-16th, so most likely on the Friday and Saturday. Will be having a good look tonight

  • My friend who is an avid mountain biker took me on a little ride in a place called Kuitpo Forest, about 50 mins drive from Adelaide. One of the few places I know around here with pine trees, instead of Eucalypts, and kin of reminds me of the area in Germany where I'm from.

There are some pretty good single track bits (no time to take a photo) that were up there with anything I ever did around Leith Hill when my London friends took me for the very few MTB rides I have ever done. Had to bail out quite a few times on sections that had big jump ramps, and I struggled around some tight switchbacks.

Riding single track is for sure harder and slower when you're riding on the hoods and don't have suspension, but do-able and good fun never the less. The Wolverine really took it well, and the 29er roll over lots of things I didn't expect them to be able to.

  • Anyone got a sram bar clamp for a shifter goig spare? Bought a shifter on ebay and stupidly didnt check the ebay prices of them before buying. Thought they'd be a few quid, they are not :(

  • Totally in the same situtation as you and after testing a Voodoo Bizango I couldn't find anything I didn't like about this bike, can easily see why stedlocks mentioned it.

  • It would but postage is £7.50 :(

  • Damn, missed that. This? Kinda pricey still but not awful

  • Ahh nice one! Been searching ebay but the only one I found that cheap was in china! Thanks!

    New page fail, @TomvanHalen

  • Score! Offered £5, he countered with £5.76 haha.

  • Is it the sram matchmakers you're after? I can't remember what match they make, but I've got a pair you can have if they'll do the job?

  • Thanks mate, i think the matchmakers somehow connect them with avid brake levers, but this is just for the shifter.

Already bought one now anyway, thanks though!

  • No worries 😉

  • Anybody wanna ride peaslake or swinley tomorrow? Need to test out the new MTB again but somewhere a little more hilly.
