Perfect! Thank you. Its defo not BB90 .. I think BB90 is carbon only with Trek.

ah that would make sense - as I was looking at Speed Concepts and Madones then remembering I would need new cranks/PM

NoQ vs. Praxis

vs.
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/chainrings/black-4636-praxis-works-cyclocross-110mm-bcd-5-arm-double-chainring-set/Which would you buy for Rotor w/ P2M looking to lower the gearing for road use?

Not a straight answer to what you're asking but with TA Specialites rings you can mix and match any combo you like? The forged praxis rings will probably last you longer though
-
• #231
Good point. Are the NoQ forged?

Are the NoQ forged?

£80 for one CNC ring vs. £120 for two forged but slightly higher little ring. Hmm. Prob just buy another Praxis set.

I didn't think you could use lower than 33 or 34T on 110 bcd?
Praxis do a 48/32 but there's some mention of it only working with their own cranks (but it also says that for the 50/34 which works with other's cranks).
Praxisworks Alba cranks...

Di2 or mechanical? I've had some issues with Praxis rings and Di2 shifters, for reasons I don't understand at all, while I've never had any problems with Rotor rings. Personally, I'd go for Rotor.

Praxis Zayante might be a good choice. Hollow forged, comes in micro 48/32, stiff as fuck and is supposed to be very durable. Drawback is that it's heavy and you need their proprietary bb

I've run two sets of Praxis rings (double and compact) with cable and Di2 and not had any issues. I mean, Shimano shift better but I'm hardly road racing and stressing about downshifting at 400W out of a corner climb. Damn it, I'd already decided on another set of Praxis :P

Those 48/32 rings only work with Praxis cranks though. I don't want anything that specific. Want to stick with 110 bcd 'standard' and adjust cassette.

Rotor spider question:
I have 3D+ cranks, bought BSA BB30 bottom bracket, so they should fit on my 68mm BSA threaded frame.
Axle is too short. Much googling later and I think it might be because the cranks are fitted with a weird spider lockring that integrates an 11mm spacer. WTF.
Rotor price for a new spider is lols.
Has anyone had similar issues who can confirm what NEEDS TO BE DONE?
-
• #240
Have you got the weird cervelo specific cranks?
-
• #241
Don't think so-dude I bought them from said they came off a Cannondale. Axle is 106mm minus the adjusting bolt which adds on about another 7mm.

I haz good news and bad news.
The bad news is on page 9 of this thread.
The good news is that it's your problem, not mine.
:) xx

Doh!
Thanks for the heads up.
Locating a lockring shouldn't be an issue-the tools on the otherhand will require an unwanted visit to a high end bike shop 😭
-
• #245
What do you need? I have bike-shop sized collection of Rotor cranks and tools.
-
• #246
Cheers Hippy!
From interwebz research I think I just need a new spider lockring which I've ordered as it was inly £8 and the tools to remove/install it which I don't but could track down a shop in Ed to do for me.
Alternatively, I may need a new spider too. I've pm'd @ewanmac to confirm as he said he'd the same issue but he's not been back on the forum yet.

I have a brand new spider off a set of 3D+ cranks I bought and put a P2M onto.
I think I still have a set of 155mm Rotor 3D+ I need to shift but that's more a TTF jobbie. -
• #248
Yeah hoping I can just get these cranks to fit anyway.
Can I conditionally dibs the spider incase I need it though pls?
-
• #249
Yeah, just let me know, I've not formally listed it anywhere I don't think.

Sorry, just back from hols.
Yup, looks identical to the cervelo lockring I had. I borrowed a rotor lockring tool from danstuff and bought a new regular lockring. Removing the cervelo lockring was a PITA because it was super tight and I didn't have an appropriately sturdy bench/vice but I took it to my local engineering workshop (agricultural machinery specialists who were stood on top of a combine harvester beating it with sledgehammers when I arrived) and got it off with the help of a length of scaffolding.
New lockring hasn't done a lot of miles as it's on my tt bike but it now fits and seems to be fine after a few months of racing.
Thought most treks were bb90, which won't work with 30mm axle.
If it is bb86 then yes the 4130 bb will work. No spacers needed on mine (giant tcx) just a slight tweak to the preload ring.
