I thought the whole idea of a naff showcase back was to show the movement?

In this instance, it's to show the power reserve (which is 8 days!!!?!!?!111) which is mounted on the movement bridge instead of the dial to keep it as clean as possible.

In typical GS style, the only embellishment is the bridge plate decoration designed to represent Mount Fuji.
