It's an Apex group and I think it goes up to 42 in back. It handled long, pretty steep road hills well, but I'd like to be able to take this on some more gravel/singletrack stuff, and for that I'm thinking I'd like to be able to gear down even further.

Local rando/touring/fancy silver bits shop figured out a way to get a gearing range wider than Eagle on the cheap (before Sram released the cheaper versions). Basically through some combination of friction shifting, mountain drivetrain bits, and magic, they run huge pie-plate cassettes and doubles that have, say, a 22 and 42 ring.

Trying to work out if the glitter dreams does best as black or brown finishing kit -- what have people done with their purple stragglers?

It's funny - I was thinking that about my straggler. I look at other stragglers (like yours) and think they look great. Then I look at mine and I feel like it's a bit awkward.

Oh man I saw one of these with a pink Chris king headset the other day. It was so perfect

Did anyone order a Straggler that was too small for them?
I'd love to swap my 54 for a 52 frameset...
If only

I have no idea what I'm talking about but it looks like a decent fit as is! What are you looking to change?

top tube length issues? My cross check is a bit on the long side and I've been wishing it was a couple of cm shorter.
-
• #568
I even find my wife's 50cm cross check a surprisingly long reach - certainly not a huge difference to my 52cm straggler.

Why do they do that? Do people in 'merica have longer arms or something?
-

All Americans install their seat posts the wrong way round - fact.
-
• #571
The fit is ok lengthwise, it's just visually I would prefer a smaller frame with a little more seatpost on show. Less of a garden gate.
I think the frames are long to accommodate chunky 700c without toe overlap

More seatpost and more spacers?
I think it looks great as is, well proportioned -
• #573
My pacer! 52cm with I think a 500' long top tube, still could use a longer stem.
