Depends on the riding you're going to do. Generally stiffer sole on road shoes which is a lot more comfortable over longer distances, and a larger contact area between pedal-cleat-shoe which again aids comfort. And you can learn to not walk to badly in SPD-SL, I used to run up stairs in mine.
But mtb is good for other uses
I read through just a few of the 24 pages and found out that ATACs rule them all. Skidding without unclipping, longer lasting cleats and I don't have to do the duck walk.
Why should anyone ever go for Look/SPD-SL apart from looking more pro?
I'm totally new to this side of riding bikes and want to spend some money. Not lots, just some.
