Well done, beats my Battersea Park SB of 16:56! I guess sub-16 will be another one of my targets again this year, and it's coming back, but I'm staying relaxed about running times whilst still mixing it up with the cycling.
@andy_k - I don't think I'd give two hoots about pace running round there. Stunning!
I celebrated my new V45 status on Sunday with a low-key 10k, the Two Castles Run (Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle, nice.) 2nd V45 and 14th overall (/3,400-odd), a good three minutes down on pb but it was a bit hilly, and more importantly it really does now feel like the achilles injury is behind me. I felt confident enough about this last week to enter the North Downs Run (30k) in a couple of weeks, which I'm just gonna treat as a very scenic, hard training run.
@aggi great effort, that is a lot of climbing.
@andy_k there is a lot to be said for not worrying about time/distance for a while and enjoying being out and feeling like you are running fast without constantly checking your watch.
I did the Sri Chinmoy 5k in Battersea Park last night. Tried to do it without looking at my watch too much and just racing the people around me. Think I managed to run 16:38, which is faster than last week but still a way off my sub 16 target for the summer. I'm going to have to up the training a bit from 30 miles a week and one session to hit that.
Enjoy your Tuesday.
