It seems this whole UKIP "good immigrant VS bad immigrant" and "it's all the fault of globalization" narrative forgets that the good immigrants have options, EU nationals don't know what's what, so they probably don't recommend the UK to their mates atm and that isolating yourself comes at a high price if you have severe skill shortages.
You can't just "turn around" those shortages. Combined with an unwillingness to pay more tax and wealth going towards the top and you have a recipe for disasters.
Voters are warned, they don't want to know. Politicians don't want to admit it, cos voters don't want to know (Labour is still in full denial mode, only LibDems/Greens etc seem to back the Single Market which comes with FOM and rights for people...) so it's going round and round in circles...
