  • I Sugru'd mine to the bottom of my out front Garmin mount, looks far better than under the stem, if you don't want to go the full bar / stem routing route.

  • I had similar feelings when I first put them on but quickly got used to them. I have them on the underside of the bar just inboard of the handlebar tape, so not exactly where your fingers would be when your hands are on the drops, I found they got in the way there. It feels pretty instinctive now

  • Good to know they grew in you. Would love to see a pic if it isn't too much hassle. I'm running them under the tape at the moment, but wonder if that makes them harder to press.

  • It would, the tape almost certainly has some compression to it.

  • Yes the bar tape will definitely have a considerable impact in the feel. Try them towards the stem uncovered.

I attached mine with some gorilla tape. Here's a shot.

  • My power drill made my current bar and stem di2 compatible

  • Great stuff, thanks for that. As both you and @hippy have said, under tape probably doesn't help (my OCD side wants everything neat and tidy).

    Is gorilla tape double sided?

  • Indra'd thread

  • The neatest solution is not to use silly climbing buttons. Move your hands around, they'll thank you in the long run.

  • Yes it's double sided. I like the buttons. They mean you can move your hands around, which is good in the long run, or climb.

  • eTap and front shifting - should I stick with a SRAM chainset and rings?

  • Works flawlessly on my 'dale spider ring

  • I've used Praxis rings in the past without issue and am now on Rotor No Q's, which also work perfectly.

  • The contenders:

SRAM Red Quarq cranks (no rings) for £799

Or Cannondale SiSl2 cranks for £749 plus a Power2max type-S for €790 and still need rings.

Or just buy a standard SRAM red chainset and use my Vectors.

  • I don't speak SRAM, what's the difference between a SRAM Red 22 chainset and a SRAM Red Exogram chainset (both BB30)?

  • Red 22 chainset is Exogram, it refers to the construction. I've seen a few differnt looknig Red chainsets kicking about though, the 22 ones had the classic red/grey graphics, but then they brought one out that was a dark colour scheme.

  • Also, if cost is an issue, pretty sure the later Red 10 chainsets are just the same as the 22 model (apart from the rings, although 10 rings work fine with 11 speed). So you could probs pick one up second hand off ebay for not alot of cash.

  • Actually, thinking about it, they may have produced a Red crank with a separate spider like the Force and Rival cranks. Probably one to avoid as no doubt heavier and shitter than the full carbon crankset.

  • The whole point of the Red cranks with the separate spider is to pair with the Quarq power meter, as linked above.

  • That makes sense. The ones with the spearate spider will not be exogram then.

  • Pretty sure the Red arms are hollow whereas the Force arms aren't. That's all that Exogram means as far as I can tell

  • Yeh, coould well be. I took it to mean that the arms and spider were all one piece hollow carbon, but I read it a while ago when I was looking to buy some SRAM cranks.

  • Can anyone beat this?
