I got a problem with my bike stand (fixing stand not storage) Anyone got any ideas about how I can be adapted for narrow tubing.
The clamps have been designed for fat tubing and hence don't clamp with any stability for a narrow njs frame I'm working one. Stuffed some rags in there which was a bodge and not secure enough but protected the paintwork.
Ideally some nice rubber non slip block would be nice.
Ideas welcomed. -

Wrap old inner tube around the frame.

That slidey on pipe insulation, just packed a frame with it - very good.
Like the inner tube idea though. -

Anyone got any ideas for mounting bikes upright on a wall without screwing anything in? Moving in to a new flat and not sure the landlord would be too happy with a few new holes in the wall...

Make some kind of freestanding frame to hang bikes off?

I made something similar to this and it is acceptable if you have a nook to put it in, or else is sticks out a fair bit.

Just put it on a dolly, then you have wheels for moving heavy shit in the future.

Park tool handlebar holder. But you can achieve the same By bending a wire coathanger.

Can you angle the stand? If so make it so the nose dips a little.

Toe strap through the wheel and down tube then? Less useful for working on the wheel, mind.

Tie a small strap between the rim and down tube.
Job done.
In many shops they use zip tie. For a longer term solution for display purposes. -

Good shout, thanks!

This is what I do. All my bikes seem to nose dive. Ive used everything from zip ties to shoelaces but old cage straps seem much more in keeping.

do you have two pairs of identical sidis?

No. Wire and Ergo3
Using Stair Hook lets you suspend your bike right next to the banister where you can lock it using a D-lock which is much more secure than a cable lock.
