Stopped at the lights outside oval tube station on the way in this morning and there was a lovely old woman handing out her conservative leaflets. oh and she also snot-rocketed on the floor right at the feet of a passing pedestrian.

Yes, it seems like the challenge from the Lib Dems in Vauxhall won't come to much.

and thornbury didn't have the numbers when asked
presenter has asked if labour could get the figures to thornbury by the end of the program -
• #2009
Thornberry has been impressive I think. Enjoyed a couple of her performances so far.

Politicians should not be expected to remember any figures, it's not a memory test.
However, they should be expected to have a competent assistant who has all the figures index, and is able to provide them with the figure in a very timely fashion. That's not asking much.

the odds
There's only an 80,000,000% chance though

should the assistants be expected to remember the figures though , surely they should have a competent assistant who has all the figures index, and is able to provide them with the figure in a very timely fashion.

Bob Quick weighing in on the police cuts question:
-
• #2014
No, no one should remember any figures, it's not a memory test.
But with an excel spreadsheet with the numbers in, the relevant figure could be found very quickly. Then they can give this to the politician.

That Abbott interview from yesterday was shocking. She gives such a stick for people to beat the Labour party with. I've heard a lot in the past few days, normally when people are referring to the job that May did as home secretary, "Could you imagine what would happen with Abbott as home secretary/chairing the COBRA meeting on Saturday night/MI5 reporting to her"
There are people trying to sell it as white, middle-class men picking on her as she's a black, working-class woman but in reality she's just a bit shit on the big stage and her crap blagging/patronising manner doesn't help.

I agree. That's part of why any discussion of her gets quite fraught quite quickly.

I'm not sure that 'get out of jail free' is a phrase Labour should be using right now.
