  • I had an E39 M5 for a couple of years, best car I have ever owner (to date). Was not cheap to run but was amazing to drive. The only car that my wife still talks about, best mpg we ever managed was 26/27 on a run up to Scotland. Around town would regularly see <15mpg... outside of the normal servicing & tyres the only issue i had was with the vapor seals around the rear doors.

    In a downpour the water would run into the car because of the failed seal and the footwells would fill up.
