My attempts to contact belle bikes about the A force rim have been unsucessful. Given the issues they are having delivering supporters orders I am not pursuing this brand.
The rim is actually less aero than the Kinlin XR31T at yaw angles less than 7 degrees according to a november cycles test. Which makes me think what are you actually getting for your money? 90% of our riding is at such yaw angles or less.

I messaged them a month ago to inquire about the release date and pricing, they told me Wheel-tec took over distribution. The data you have there looks dissapointing though

Far from disappointing for the cheapest rim to be the fastest, unless you've already bought one of the others :)

I'm planning on rebuilding my road wheels. They are currently Archetype's on DA9000's (24/28) and I'll be rebuilding on to Kinlin XR31T's. I'm after advice on spokes. I've always used DT comps in the past, but was wondering if I'll see any benefits in using bladed spokes?

If you were racing at the level where the few Watts CX-Rays/Aerolites would save over Comps mattered, you probably wouldn't be using XR31Ts :)

Fair.

Hi all
I picked up a Zipp carbon wheel and all looked good on roadside inspection, however after a bit of a clean I've spotted a bit of a mark next to one of the spokes, pics below.
It feels like more of a scratch than a crack (doesn't go all the way through the carbon, is uneven in depth and there's no 'give'). However, I'm fearing for the worst here... What do you think?
And there I thought I'd bagged a good rim for rebuilding onto the track.
Thanks in advance.

The real benefit of aero spokes is ease of building. Not that building with round spokes is hard.
-
• #6135
Probably not a crack, it looks restricted to the surface. Looks can be decieving though. How it feels can be telling.

I'd go for some decent quality double butted round spokes, Sapim Race or DT swiss competition.

Hi all,
How easy is disassembling a wheel?
Is the best way to reduce the spoke tension slowly? Thanks,
Matt -

Yep. Was thinking DT Revs for the front, 24 radial.
DT Comps rear. 28 2 cross.
Rear is a symmetric.Sound good?

If you want to reuse the spokes, you should separate the trailing and not-trailing spokes from the ds and nds side and use them in the same manner again.
Never disassembled a wheel myself but that's what I read in this thread -

I have no experience with Rev's put probably should be fine on the front with that spoke count.
Have you bought the rear? I'd go for an asymmetric if you can, will help move the tension balance closer to even. But yeah, I think 2 cross is the right pattern for 28h.

Weird, was sure I'd typed asymmetric.
But yes, it is.

Should turn out great. Whose building them?
-
• #6143
No sure yet. I usually use Arup, but he's had to move house recently, so may have to re think if he's not available.
I also need to service the DA hubs. I'm hoping that's an easy job.

Would someone mind double checking my calculations re spoke length?
Rims- Kinlin XR31T (24/28 - rear is asymmetric)
Rim ERD - 580Front (Radial) - 24 DT Rev - 273mm
Rear (2 cross) - 28 DT Comp - Left 288mm, Right 276mm
Calculations based on 14mm nipples.
Thanks

Should only be 2mm diff on rear left should be 278mm?

Hmmm.
This is from the Leonard calculator
Anything obviously wrong?

Yes, it is obvious and the sharp eyed among you will conclude I need glasses!
Nothing to see here, move along...
Sorry, I'm an idiot.
This is the Exalith version which will be more expensive than the new normal open pros
