You mean the discount code?
-
• #203
Yeah. I didn't think a price was announced yet
-
• #204
The retail is supposed to be $499
I only received a link which I think is unique, but I do have a referral code which gets some money off, so feel free to try it. http://hammerhead.refr.cc/scottb -

There's apparently going to be some pre-sale special offer to get them for $399 too.
-
• #206
Ah cheers. Quite a bit too rich for me. Road.cc had mentioned they thought it should be about 350 in line with the wahoo but maybe that was wishful thinking
-
• #207
I reckon they're probably going to stick nearer the $399 'special offer' price once it's finally launched.
I'm more than happy to give it a go at the £230 price though. :) -

hammerhead thing looks massive. promotional video is awful too

swear thats quite a bit more than wahoo state its meant to be able to do? nice
I somewhat believe so, mine managed nearly 270km of recording before I end it (companion's bike derailleur have exploded halting the ride).
What more, at 220km, the battery show something like 22%, a quick charges via an battery chargers, and it's back to 100% in no time, what I can definitely tell you is that the ELEMNT charges a lots quicker than a Garmin.

.

• #212
without turn-by-turn mine loses just under 10% an hour
-
• #213
That's pretty good, is that with map showing route I assumed?
-
• #214
no just out on a normal ride, no navigation
-
• #215
Considering getting a Wahoo Elemnt (probably not Bolt as want to be able to remove it easily and the extra hour battery for touring—though happy to hear advice to the contrary).
Wondering if anyone has any tips on where to source it. Wiggle is back at £250 now. Any other good places to shop? (Or anyone selling any second hands?) Cheers.

quick question...If I zoom in on the maps below 2000ft I lose the map detail and just seem to get a white screen. when i first press the zoom the streets flash up more zoomed in for a split second then it goes white. but as soon as I zoom out to 2000ft again the streets show again. Any ideas?

I experience the same fraction of information

It's a ride with GPS route I've loaded. Is there a limit to the zoom level on the ride with GPS website?
I've seen videos and pictures of the navigation online and they're zoomed in way closer than 2000ft :( -

... Bueller.........

I don't know how Wahoo manages map tiles, but to me that sounds like you've map tiles loaded to a certain zoom level, but when you zoom in the necessary higher zoom level tiles aren't available.
-
• #221
Hmmm.... Can you fix it for me mister? :)

To give some context, when I was working on a GPS cycling device project, we had limited storage space for map tiles. Out of the box we could cover the globe down to zoom level 10, but for turn by turn navigation you'd need zoom level 16 as a minimum. We had to make the decision that the user would be responsible for selecting the tiles needed, via route planning and download (although this would happen automatically if you downloaded a route to the device).
I've not looked at how Wahoo do this, but the issue sounds similar.

It definitely seems like there's a total block below 2000ft as the most it has shown is a town name, but no other map detail, then as soon as you go back to 2000ft the full map detail loads straight away.
-
• #224
Not any roads visible zooming in?
-
• #225
None at all below 2000ft.
They flash up for a split second, but then it's just a white page. The most it shows is the town name.
But as soon as you zoom back out to 2000ft or above the whole map shows again.
Very annoying.
