  • yeah, actually, I was looking at the wrong numbers. Somewhere around 45" would be my ideal all-day gear but it looks like that might not be possible without a change of cranks.

  • I'm running 34:16 and 32:18 on my 26" Kona. Works a treat, takes about 10 seconds to change by hand, but I'm using a 9sp chain so it's quite easy to drop it off the front ring. What cranks are you running?

  • XT M8000 double. Did consider running two chainrings off one extra long chainring bolt with a spacer, but I've already stripped a thread on the integrated chainring nut on these cranks running one ring, so that's probably a really bad idea.
