Don't worry about getting in the drops on your commute? People in the drops commuting look like melons anyway

And drops are less aero that 90 degree bend in arms on the hoods

My justification was that modern chinese carbon should be better than 20 year old proper carbon, ie Monkeylites that everyone uses without issue. There are horror stories but thats true of most carbon bars

You have just purchased a proper race bike with an aggressively low front end and those compact bars are pretty much as compact as you can get...
The 'plus' of riding in the drops is more weight over the front wheel so you can corner quicker and also descend in a safer manner as you'll have better/firmer control of your brakes (along with a lower centre of gravity).
It does seem a bit odd that you won't ride in the drops on a more 'comfortable' bike such as the Synapse and go ahead and purchase this anyway.
That said I regularly see guys riding around Regent's Park sitting bolt upright on full blown aero bikes so each to their own.

I actually really like riding it, and as mentioned I might get more pleasure out of the drops if it was 1-2 cm less deep.
Looking around I have come across plenty handlebars with 120-125mm drops, the C3 has 140mm. So it's not that much of a strange preference I think.
(Also it is already more 'comfortable' then my track bikes, those are setup more aggresive..)
Now looking into the 3T Ergonova.

So if you can't get in the drops on this then surely you can't on a more aggressively positioned track bike, unless you ride them on the tops all the time?
Sorry, not meaning to be a dick about it but essentially - have track bikes which aren't comfortable (no need for inverted commas) as they're too aggressive - buys road bike which isn't comfortable in all positions because it's too aggressive... doesn't make a great deal of sense.
Surely a bike suited to your riding type, flexibility, core strength etc would make a bit more sense (ie a bit more upright).

You're all missing the fact that everyone wants a cool looking bike and nobody wants a synapse

Cool looking bike until you ride it.

Lol this is the internet bro, we don't actually ride our bikes

I've been riding it 200 km per week, for 3 weeks now. My commute is 60 km.
You are misinterpreting my comments on riding in drops and preference. ;)My most comfortable bike is my Dutch city/grandma bike, an old timer Simplex.
Sportive/Agresive riding is not meant to be 100% comfortable I think. But as comfortable as possible. Reason why I wan't to nudge the comfort just up a bit.So anyone experience with 3T Ergonova's?

I am 100% comfortable on my road bike, 5 or 6 hours riding with no discomfort, plenty of the time in the drops. The grand tour is 200 odd KM a day for almost a month. You should be comfortable
-
• #8116
You should work on your flexibility and core strength rather than fitting the shallowest drops you can find

Good point, give me some time. ;)

My OG Mash is my most comfortable (and aggressive) bike.

Sorry to have taken discussion away from Cannondale. Lets just agree we have different opinions on comfort. ;)

52 or 54 at a punt.
Price is alreet, not mega bargs.
Living on the edge. ;)
I actually was just checking out a rockbros handlebar on Ali, carbon and compact. Looks solid and well designed.
And isn't the world made in China?(and good carbon only in Taiwan??)
Conclusion: Salsa Cowbell and 1cm shorter thomson x2 stem.
