  • If you're riding a slower bike, you're often more upright and more weight on your arse.

  • If you're riding fast you're almost lifting yourself away from the saddle and reducing saddle pain / bump impacts.

  • mindblown.gif

  • You're welcome.

  • Pub?

  • I was going to have a nap, but if you're buying...

  • I'll see you there in 5.

  • I was going to have a nap

60 plus and still going strong thread >>>>>>>

  • I also have to say, on a non-tyre related note, when people keep harping on about the immense 'spring' of a steel frame, they mean 'weight', right?

  • Double post fail

  • Touché my friend

  • Still...my prolly rating is off the chart.

  • pinched (?) 3 inner tubes trying to install conti ss+ in 23. they are impossible to fit without a lever and if I use a lever it gets pinched. Any tips or should I forget about it?

  • start from opposite end of valve (6'o clock position, with the valve at 12 o'clock), and push it in both side toward the valve.
Then when it get tight nearing the valve, try and ensure that all the tyres bead is in the centre of the rims.

Once you done that, push the valve inward of the rims to move the inner tube away from the tyres bead/rims to reduced chance of pinching it, and do your best.

    Alternately, Kool Stop Tyre Mate.

  • so in a burst of stupidity - i peeled off the reflective tape of my Ritchey Speedmaxes because #going rogue or dumb :P - the tyre is liek this on both sides - anybody do anything this stupid before .. is it safe to ride ?

no bulging but yeah it stripped the fine layer of rubber off the sidewall casing

  • Don't worry, it's fine

  • The carcass is fine, it's unlikely the tyre will be the cause of your untimely death.

  • Having swapped my knards for 40mm gravel king sk due to 5 punctures in 5 weeks with the knards. Can highly recommend gks, especially at winstanleys price, they grip well on bridleway/towpath and are fairly good on tarmac, best of all zero punctures so far on the same routes as the knards at the same pressure. Well worth the coin.

  • To be honest ive done this before with maxxis tyres and it always left a reflective residue....never expected the tyre itself ... Strong glue

  • Does anyone have 23mm vittoria corsa g fitted to 17mm internal width rims? Wondering about their inflated width. I have a bike that has very little clearance on the rear stays and rubbed with an old set of open corsa 25's.
