Logical there matey, makes sense. Good luck with the hunt, they look like wicked bikes. I had an Aprilia AF1 back in the paleolithic era....blew up a freshly rebuilt crank in less than 1000 miles. Bloody thing. Was good when it worked though.
There are some great canyon roads...often pretty well surfaced. The nearest one to me is the Angeles Crest which is rightly famed - about a 20 minute ride to get there. I don't ride it much as it's proper fast, with lots of blind, tightening radius corners. If you're having fun, you're doubling the speed limit and then some....which is no good for an implant like me. The canyons up around Malibu are great but a hour or sos unpleasant freeway battering to get to.
