This went from being super fun into a chore. I couldn't leave people behind. The motherbase as a whole was like this. And then, in the end, the game got super repetitive. I think this was a common complaint. Without a real story to push it along I gave up a few missions into the Africa section.

Maybe not the pinnacle but Spec Ops: The Line was pretty good.

Same. And I love the MGS series. Nothing was compelling me.

Amazing game that should be on everyone's must play list. Wouldn't class it as a tactical shooter though.
-
• #17131
Oh also have that I think. Simple on rails kinda shooter but fun.

I can already seeing it get a bit grindy buy this is a level 80 hunter elf who spent months killing wargs in Angmar for the Determination deed that you're talking to. Grind is my middle name.
On MGSV, I have found it very 'funny'. I've not really played anything with such dumb humour in it and I imagine that's what Zelda BOTW is a bit like. I'm not completely convinced I like it but it's better than I imagined it to be.

Have to disagree there. 2 and 3 had pretty solid storylines and 1 was pretty basic but broke down the boundaries between video games and cinema. 4 was a bit of a mishmash to try to tie up all the loose ends and 5 was ultimately completely unnecessary. It should be noted that Kojima was pushed into all of them after the first MGS. I still think the storyline from 3 is one of the best in any video game.

AGree with that tbh, 3, specifically the snake eater version, is still one of my favourite games ever

I remember the first sniper battle with The End, hid well in a nice bushy bit with a wide scope of vision, waited around a bit for movement, caught a slight glint off in the distance and thought to myself 'could that have been light reflecting off matey's scope? na that's too much attention to det...' and promptly got sniped in the head

I'm not saying they're not good games. I've really enjoyed each of them. It's just the story line can sometimes feel a bit made up as they got to it.

They certainly walk an odd line between huge attention to detail with regards to realism (specifically the weapons and the AI), and some incredibly wacky supernatural events.
However I'd argue that the storyline is pretty awesome (and the same goes for 2), especially compared to other games in the genre.

Alan Wake is very cheap in Steam before it'll get removed tomorrow.
Also Rally finally have a massive discount.

I've finally opened all the maps in Zelda... It's sooooo big!!!

I've just beaten NG++, it was tough.
NG+ was pretty easy, easier than 1st play, but ++ was nails.
Currently trying to grind out covenant items for Platinum trophy.
Might start a fresh character for next run through, have a crack at a miracles. -

It has to be to fit 900 bloody Koroks.
-
• #17142
I fucking hate Koroks... And now I've got 40+ seeds to play with I can't fucking find Hestu!!! 😭
-
• #17143
have you caved in and got the dlc yet? I'd recommend it - there are some fantastic bosses in each
-
• #17144
Where is he?! I met him, got that first upgrade and now I've got shitloads of seeds and not enough inventory slots :|
-
• #17145
I know where he is, but it's a bit of a plot spoiler, so I won't tell you. :D
-
• #17146
At least you can throw shit weapons away with enough force to help deal with the frustration.
I did the 'stasis golf' shrine over the weekend. The extra treasure chest took me a good 40+ mins. Ffs.
-
• #17147
Yeah I think I decided I didn't need whatever was in that chest that badly!
-
• #17148
Not yet, I want to start again so I go into it on NG, not with inflated difficulty with no prior experience
-
• #17149
Fuck that shrine.
I've done all 120 shrines now and that was the worst by far...
-
• #17150
Which one is that? I've done two of those get-the-ball-in-the-hole gyro shrines and they were pretty easy...
I'm finding this already. I'm not so keen on the weird fire ghoul dude and the jumpy smoke fiends but the Afghanistan amusement is amusing. Haven't quite figured out mother base but I've certainly unlocked a load of stuff I'm enjoying using. Fulton all the things. :)
