Waiting for the cheese board at Chez Bruce later today... do I starve myself in preparation?

CB is an odd place. It's fantastic but so stuck in the early 90's it hurts. Don't eat. and have a preparation poo as well.

:) It's been on my list since they went bricks and mortar but new baby = basically never eating at nice places again. At least until Mrs CYOA feels baby sitting is appropriate. Which won't be for at least 19 years I imagine.

Ask jillybomb she may remember the cheeseboard from the anniversary dinner we had there..

Went to Chik'n'sours today - mostly excellent and finally felt like something that lived up to the hype. Everyone should get the mexinese nachos.

Any suggestions for a functional Indian restaurant in walking distance from Waterloo station? Just needs to be decent, not fancy.
Was going to book Spice of India on The Cut but Google reviews are sufficiently awful to make me think twice.
Thanks

If you fancy a longish walk, can get on a bus or tube for 1 stop you could go to Ghandi's in Kennington and eat very good curry.

Lunch or dinner? There used to be at least one good curry house on Lower Marsh, but I think the excellent lunchtime only place has closed now.
Definitely avoid the Spice of India, the food is awful.

Dinner.
Yes, I used to go to that place on Lower Marsh when I worked at Waterloo. It's not there anymore.

I didn't think it was. Last time I was there the proprietor said she was probably going to have to close. Her co-owner sadly died from cancer too, which was desperately sad. I used to love the food they did there.

That's a good option; thanks.

Tibits has just opened a new place near the Tate Modern, might work for you:

Obviously, it's entirely vegetarian and might not be what you want.

ended up eating at a vietnamese place on Kingsland Road in the end, which was really good, but nowhere near to the original location requested..

Suggestions for nice anniversary dinner with the missus on a Friday night? Will be meeting at Euston, so ideally walking distance from there, but can hop on a bus.

Quality Chop House in Farringdon.
-
• #648
Not much going on round that way and give us a clue what sort of thing you like?
-
• #649
Was thinking either modern British or Italian; Quality Chop House looks good and is half an hour's walk or so from Euston, so will be going on the list of options, thanks @Bainbridge.

Another Farringdon option
Another plug for my buddy's place in Brighton. Seriously great food.
