That may be it for the Red Lion as far as forum drinks go, the pub has now been pretty much absorbed by the Santa Maria, it's now packed with diners, tables are now being booked, and its tough to sit down if you aren't eating. Brilliant success story for the Red Lion, but not a great boozer anymore.

I'm open to any suggestion, a few more miles doesn't matter to me.

Currently checking out the City Barge in Chiswick. Not bad. The White Hart in Mortlake also looks reasonably bike friendly. Bikes can be taken across Barnes railway bridge as there's helpful bike channels on the steps at each end. It depends how far West @hamrack fancies coming.

I noticed those channels when I walked over that bridge, back in December, when I was buying myself an xmas present, (2nd hand Boardman carbon road bike).

How far east is @hamrack starting from?

My part of the world for post ride beers - White Hart is ok, but the bike stands down by the river flood depending on tide and indoor tables often hard to come by. The Ship Mortlake just along the river is better imo. City Barge not bad, a bit dull indoors. Same deal with the tide. Old Ship W6 is a good venue - lots of outdoors river space. Also have a look at the Express Tavern, north side of Kew Bridge - big covered/open garden with a bike rack at the back and a fine selection of beers.

The weather looks quite pleasant tomorrow evening. Does anyone fancy heading back to the Old Ship or perhaps giving the White Hart in Mortlake a try?
