  • The problem with this Parcel Force delivery is that I'm not the customer - Rose Bikes are. Parcel Force are also incapable of receiving a surcharge from me, it seems, so the post office route is out. I'll go to the depot on the tube, cos it's more straightforward...

  • 9mm is QR no?

9mm thu is different to QR, but use the same dropouts though

Bitex comes to mind otherwise. And DT 240.

240 doesnt seem to offer anything. I did see the Bitex BX312R but couldnt find anyehwre that sold them

  • I think its actually the 350 which I did look at and assumed only came in 28 hole becuase thats all I could find, but according to the website they're 24 as well. Cheers

  • No problem. I should note that after about 2000mi the freehub became pretty draggy. Got new wheels because carbonz so never bothered sorting it out, they're my emergency spare wheels now. My mate had similar hubs and had to buy a new freehub after a similar distance I think...

  • @AdsH might know someone who does XC specific stuff.

  • Whatever the JRA Jawbone uses?

  • 9mm thu is different to QR, but use the same dropouts though

But it's a front wheel size. The corresponding rear fitment is 10mm. 350 straight pull CL comes as 12/142 but they do end caps for 10/135 and the corresponding 10/135 RWS skewer

  • My beloved 2200W Vax has died after 7 years of service.

What are the best of the piffling new throttled (thanks Obama) vacuum cleaners at the minute?

I have two cats and my floors are 40% laminate, 40% carpet and 20% lino.

  • Dyson rechargeable, had one for a few months so easy.

  • Which one? Are they not feeble compared to mains powered?

  • Mines the feeble v6 and has done a cracking job on on our dog hair encrusted lifestyle, and as it is so easy, it takes the chore out of it.

  • I also just got a v6, its amazeballs

  • Another vote for the wall mounted Dyson rechargeable, I got the V8 because Mad Max.

  • Miele Cat & Dog or similar. Tend to come out top on the Which tests (although not as convenient as a rechargeable).

  • Balls to buying/running out of bags.

Tempted by the Cinetic Big Ball Upright. I don't really have anywhere convenient to put the dock/leave a cordless on charge without getting another socket fitted under the stairs. The Cinetic has no filters, motorised brush head and is available under £300 in some places even though the RRP looks to be over £500

  • Who sells a 1.5 to 1 1/8 shim for my cannondale stem to fit on a none cannondale steerer?

  • Admittedly I bought one without realising they take bags. Seem to last for ages though

  • Anyone know a good idiots' guide, forum thread or otherwise, to removing old tub glue and prepping/gluing new tubs/adding puncture goo?

I have no idea what I'm doing. Should I just pay a pro to do it?

    Ta

  • I do a bit of work with Dyson.

Would personally steer clear of the Big Ball upright, it is bloody heavy and takes up lots of space, so definitely go try one out first. Also don't believe the RRP.

If you really wanted a Dyson upright I would save the money and go with a DC40 Animal, can be had for less than £200, relatively light and picks up well.

I would still be going for a V8 though, they are great.

  • There's some posts on the tubs thread. 50% glue chat and 50% "are these tubs any good" chat.

    #prothreadlurking

  • Cheers for the feedback. Given the number of points of review, I will likely go for the v8

  • Good choice. Now you just have to decide whether you want V8, V8 Animal, V8 Absolute or V8 Total Clean...

No difference in the motors or anything like that, it is purely the attachment heads that differ.

  • It's a fucking hoover, push something noisy around once a month and spend the rest on beer.
