Just an old Lowepro camera bag attached with short bungee cords. Not the best for access due to the front-facing top flap, but it did the job for cheap.

Various minor changes and adjustments on my CDF - straggler forks, 32c gravelkings, 105 chainset, new hoods to replace the floppy original ones... have done a mixture of riding on and off road with this setup, love this bike. Not the zippiest but smooth on and off road, good for skidz and jumpz, handles singletrack well but also fast enough to ride on a road ride with road bikes. Great all rounder and awesome tourer as well.

I keep looking at them on ebay. Just to relive my youth. I used to have one. I know how rubbish they are. You should free it even if its just to hang on the wall.

What happened to the frame? Crushed?

I found the frame in our flats' bins shed. It's rusted through on one of the chainstays and generally ruined. I was going to strip it for parts but the only (vaguely) useful thing was some 7-speed Shimano brake/shifter thingies.

It's an 8 speed 2nd gen c record with Delta brakes. Crazy bike. Love it.

Yes thanks, rode it a lot over Easter back home and managed to cram in all clothes needed in the​ rando bag. Making me think about some more adventurous trips...

Get planning, bike touring is possibly the most fun you can ever have... didn't realise it was so soon but I've got 2 weeks in Belgium mid June, need to work out how/what I'm going to pack.

Right, got a new frame for an alright price but not really sure about the paint. I have enough black plastidip to cover it nicely and a can of white to do something fadey or spoty on the fork. Never used it on a frame before so any experiences? What do you think? To spray or not to spray
