I've been told by a mechanic that copper slip is highly toxic (carcinogenic?) and is best avoided.

Think I'll stick to just grease.

If anything in Copaslip is going to hurt you from skin contact, it's the grease rather than the copper particulate. Don't eat it, and don't wash it off into the local stream with sulphuric acid, as that won't do the fish any good.
