Didn't use it that much the last few years, but yeah usual forum bants where you are not sure if they are serious about what is being said or in jest. Tbf the state of the political brain washing machine in the western world right now is at all all time high spin cycle though that doesn't excuse folks actions.

Never really understood the phaeton. If you got that kinda money, why buy an oversized Passat?
-
• #34163
It's the Bentley of the same vintage, but looks like a big Passat. That appeals to me, for some reason.

Personally I would avoid it unless it has had a new timing chain fitted correctly at a dealer, they tend to go around the 110,000 mark sooner if they have been serviced outside the dealer network.
They make a scraping noise when they are worn almost like a chuffing steam train where the chain is scraping against the chain guides, once they get too loose they whip back and forth the slack and shatter the cam chain wheel, very messy.

The engine cover could be missing because the little rubber mounts had worn out or someone has left it off after engine work? -

Small cheap car for long commute.
Serious question?
I'd probably go for something like a Skoda Fabia with one of the small VW turbo engines, as they're cheap to run and comfortable. Or if cheap to buy something like a Vectra, as they're meant to be comfortable and are very cheap to buy.

Actually serious q yes. Need to do a 3.5hr drive each way every other week for work. Don't want to spend 7 hours in agony.
Is the Fabia better than a golf?

Is that last one a tatra? The tatra v8 must be one of the dreamiest sounding engines ever made.

• #34175
Yeah, the 603 MkII. There are also two T87's and a super rare T77 pictured. Amazing, sophisticated, wonderful machines all of them.
And you are right about that V8 :)
Nice. Shiny.
