Did you hear it ping off? I still have the lawyer lips on my Shiv so it'd not do a lot.
I've lost a rear skewer before when the bearings on an MTB rear wheel had gone and the skewer rotated or something shooting the threaded knob end off (ooh nurse) into the nearby shrubbery :)
Again, fine to ride for a while just don't try and bunnyhop a curb.
