  • I didn't want to do that - the mounts are cheap, the Wahoo isn't.

  • I have a beater step through hybrid you are welcome to have in exchange for a small donation to my local charity. Pm me

  • So a futher update to my Sram S300 cranks and gxp bottom bracket (6 weeks old/1250miles) about issue...

Took the bike to Evans, explained the issue and they used a torque wrench to check the cranks are tight. Then they noticed the play can only really be felt in one orientation of the cranks. They said its most likely the axle and not the bb, but the bb could be ovalised.

I can feel and hear clicking in the cranks/bb when pushing down on the drive side pedal on every other rotation. Possibly the chainring moving slightly throwing the chainline off?

Seems my options are: buy a new gxp bb and see if that sorts the issue or buy a new crankset?

  • Decathlon do hybrid bikes with 650 wheels in the smaller sizes.

  • Do Silca frame pumps really cost upwards of £100? Or am I just looking to buy in the wrong places?

  • yes

  • Also consider C-Bear.
Just bought one so that I could use existing Ultegra cranks with a new CAAD12 Disc frameset.

There's not much space for internal cable routing with those BBs though

  • am I just looking to buy in the wrong places?

You're looking to buy the wrong brand. If you want a heritage brand, you can get a pump which is made by a company which has been in business since before the safety bicycle, rather than one made by a hipster marketing company which bought the label from a deceased Italian factory.

  • What @mdcc_tester said. The Zefal HPX is great and costs bugger all. Consider one of these too, makes any frame pump easier to use (and has a gauge).

  • We had a silca shop pump, it was shit.

  • Thanks everyone!

  • My Silca is still going strong, though I got it in 1995 and have replaced the seals a couple of times. The original presta chuck was ok, I eventually replaced it with something more universal.
    grandpa's axe, et cetera

  • SKS Rennkompressor ftw.

  • SKS Rennkompressor ftw

Only for the bikes which need >6bar, which for me means just the TT bike and tandem. Everything else is much quicker with the SKS Aircon 6.0

  • With the number of Garmin mounts I have it would be the first thing I do if I got a Wahoo.

  • Why aren't you contacting Sram for warranty replacement if they're only 6 weeks old

  • Is there anyone here who manages a FB "Page" (not person or group) and can instruct me how to set a post as 'Sticky' using Android FB or Page Manager Apps?

Edit - fb help says there should be a "Pin to Top" option. There isn't...

I'm way behind on tech nowadays.

  • Ordered wahoo elemnt and bolt from wiggle. I've sent the bolt back and kept the original elemnt, worth the extra £40ish that I paid for the extra screen size and row of LEDs I guess...

Anyway, point is it's pretty easy to fit it onto a garmin mount with no chopping or slicing of device or mount necessary.

  • I figured with the variations in mounts, the fact they reckon only a tiny bit is required shaved off, there would probably be some mounts that 'just work' without modding, but good to know if I ever get one.

  • I offer mine on here to people building beaters or whatever.
I have an 11spd one now...

Why wouldn't you put it in your metal recycling bin?

  • Yes, but I'm lucky to live within about half mile of my council recycling place. To be honest I'd probably chuck them in the 'landfill' bin otherwise, like presumably the vast majority of the borough who aren't going to commute across a big chunk of central London to dispose of stuff. @hippy a metal bin? Only supposed to put food cans, paper, plastic in the main recycling bin here.

  • You might need to find your local recyclers.

  • My recycling bin just says 'metal'. No-one complained about the 4 brake discs I put in there. Car not bike discs.

  • That was my plan when taking the bike to Evans (I bought the gxp bb there).

Evans told me they would have to strip the bb and refit to check it. They couldn't do this for another 3 weeks.
