  • haha @PhilDAS you are heartless.

  • Just about there.

Having issue with the front derailleur (6800) not moving the cage far enough out. Chain hitting the plate when in the big ring.

Other than that, just gotta put the bar tape on and it's ready.

Still gotta sort out mounts for the lights and dial in the fit.

@M_V are you free tomorrow evening or friday at some point? I can come to you...

  • Are you free all day friday? I'm meant to have welding nightclass tomorrow but I think it's going to be cancelled due to strikes but I think the wife emntioned something about dinner if that is the case... I'm off all day friday, well, up till about 7pm as I wanna do that alleycat in the evening.

  • Mine looked like that once, about two years ago. It hasn't been that tidy since. In fact, I'm pretty sure you can't actually see any of the surface of the table.

  • Technically I'm working Friday but I can take a long lunch. Anytime after 12 works for me. Let me know when is best.

  • Check your limit screw by pushing the derailleur with hand. If it goes far enough then it's cable tension that's the issue.
Read the manual it'll make setup easy; http://si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-FD0002-05-ENG.pdf

@danstuff We got a garage, so that's my space. But I did recently used the dining room table to service motorbike parts, oops.

  • Cool, 1ish then? I'll pm you my address and stuff.

  • Golden Jim

  • Haha! Now trying to figure out who this is...

  • Not quite done yet but riding quite nicely. 32mm hypers are quite comfortable.

Lights, framepump, guards (plus flaps) and proper fit left to sort out. Also considering tubeless.

By mid July I'll have clip on aerobars, a full frame pack and some other bits n bobs for the TCR too.

  • Good lookin. Any trouble setting up the road-link hanger? Wondering how they miter the top and down tube ends for that tapered head tube.

  • Nah it was fine - just plug n play pretty much.

  • What fork?

  • Rodeo spork ?

  • NIner RDO gravel fork - repainted.

  • Was round at @M_V's garage emporium yesterday, where he was whipping up some custom mount magic.

The rear is perfect - the front needs a little work but I think the idea is right.

  • Did you buy it separately. If so. Where?

  • My pal bought it from a wholesaler 'Jungle Products'. Not sure if its available to anyone - no harm in asking though.

FWIW, unless you need the mid fork mounts, I'd just go with a fork from China if I were doing it again. The Niner fork is lovely and light but also super expensive.

  • Took this out for a few rides over the weekend. Rides beautifully. First time using hydro brakes and they are bloody excellent. Using them, combined with the 32mm hypers, to cruise down a 2km single lane descent, averaging at 10% with gravel and broken tarmac pretty confidently.

Going to get a bike fit with Garry Kirk who really seems to know his stuff. He has recommended speedplay setup with midcleat soles, so will see about that.

Here's a little more reading from the frame designer (including pics of his own build)

  • Oof. Better get practicing!

  • put in around 600km on this since it was finished.

It is heavier than my supersix by a few KGs but I must say I don't really notice it on hills.

I have ordered some barrel adjusters for the mechs as the cables that came with the shifters didn't come with any. This should allow me to fine tune the gears a bit - the shifting isn't quite there.

Looking forward to a bike with Garry Kirk at the end of the month - the bike is quite comfortable but despite using the same short and saddle combination, I'm having some issues with that area that I didn't before.

I also need to figure out how to wire up my lights so I can get practising with some night riding.

Have also ordered some profile design t1 aerobars that are a bit more adjustable that the Deda set that I have at the moment.

  • Is that a PG1170 cassette you fitted? My current groupset is on it's last legs and stranded me on the weekend, so I'm going to switch to a setup like yours later this month.
