  • Link to thread please.

Has anyone bedazzled their bags? I'm looking for some hot pink rhinestones.

  • it's pretty good, I'm in Torphins so could just pedal to the start, if you're in Aberdeen you can pedal along the Deeside way to the start or jump on a bus to Banchory and sling the bike underneath (coach type affairs usually). Are you up in bonny Scotland?

  • Might actually get the job done for what I need, what do you say @hippy ?

Can strap where you want, cool design (as american as revelate), and seems small enough to fit under the bottle cages where I wanted.

  • I bought some of these in, they're tiny and very stiff material. What you wanting to put in it?

  • Minimum: levers, patches, multitool, chain breaker + 3 links, 1 spare tube

Additional: another tube, pocket knife, some small zip ties, chain lube

stiff is good, can you give me some dimensions? is it more than 10cm when folded? does it come with straps to tie it to the frame?

  • Ive got that tool roll. I wouldn't think it'd be any good for strapping to a frame tube.

  • There's one strap similar to a pedal strap. it'll just swing around the tube no? How would you keep it on the top side of the downtube against gravity?

  • You can have a look at mine if you're in central london

  • Tent or hammock for bike camping?

  • Either, I personally didn't sleep at all in a hammock so either bivi or tent.
Are you going somewhere there are trees?
Because you squash the insulation in your sleeping bag you might be quite cold in a hammock without an under quilt.
Hammock doesn't need flat ground which is a plus.
Hammock tarp gives lots of space to cook under.
Lots of personal positives and negatives for both of them for me,but I just didn't get on with the hammock

  • That product is not what you need.

    Keep looking.

  • Hammock did not work for me either, even got cold on a tryout in the basement!

  • Are you not meant to be warmer as you're not on the ground?

But I've read very mixed reviews when it comes to hammocks so I may just get a tent and deal with it!

  • It's because you squash the insulation below you in a hammock so your back is almost just against just open air.

  • Not tried it myself, but it seems folk zip their sleeping bag all the way around both themselves and the hammock to get around this problem.

  • Thanks for the feedback, but I am thinking a tool roll might still give me the shape flexibility and fitting options I need

  • Cheers mate, I'd swap the strap for an used up inner tube that is more grippy, then tighten it properly.

I wouldn't mind taking a peek at yours. I'll PM

  • Yeah I can see that tbh...

@Landslide that's interesting. Sounds like a faff though ha

  • Yeah, if it fits without fouling the chainrings and FD it could be a good way to store heavier tools down low, assuming you can strap it down tight. I've never seen one in the flesh though.

  • Roll cage triangle bags :)

    Unfortunately too big - Small measures 13" x 9" x 2'.

  • Do you have your gsearch set for US only? :)

  • I use duckduckgo and don't share my location so it defaults to US. I saw them in an image search but with nothing next to them for scale had no idea of size until I read their site details. Looks like something you could DIY if you sew?

  • Not only is the insulation squished (and moved around) but I think the bigger factor is the wind chill (even if there is virtually no breeze) that efficiently moves fresh air past your bottom the whole time.
Side sleepers need not apply either.

  • Already thought about it, I don't sew, my sister does, for work, I asked her to make me one. Said no. :(
