All three accepted low turnouts as inevitable allowing the kipper rabble to gain representation and then use their EU funding to keep their nationalist agenda heard at home.
Huh. Interesting. This is a theory I'd not heard before. By ignoring the EU elections, the major parties allowed a marginal party the opportunity to legitimize itself (and siphon off funds).
