It sure does matter, especially for collector/show bikes where it's more about the looks than durability.
I for example have around ten bikes, but only three of them are really used on a daily basis. The rest is just used once or twice per month, why invest in high end tyres on these?

Anyway, still these are the nicest tyres by far in that price range - show me any other clincher tyre with a herringbone or diamond pattern for under 20€.
