The car is king now. No one gives a fuck about cyclists.
-
• #15328
Don't underestimate the traffic and arrive late is my best tip for that course.
Oh and make sure everything is tightened on your bike.
-
• #15329
Arrive late? Is the HQ really crap.
-
• #15330
He means there can be lots of traffics. So plan to arrive early in case you're delayed in traffic.

Lucky the 3cm rule isn't enforced.

Oh I get you. I thought the two points were seperate! I'll be riding there from the station so hopefully be there in plenty of time.

I'm sure he could slide back on that. InstaLegalâ„¢
Anyway, it's clearly not Superman position so no dramas.

anything to look out for
Read and obey the local regulations, which should be printed on the start sheet. There are special instructions regarding both the Coxbridge roundabout and the single-lane sections of road.
-
• #15335
Old pic, he's compliant on his new bike (after mods). Actually improved his CdA.
-
• #15337
Keep your eyes out for the ruts and holes in the road on the approach to the Coxheath roundabout (eastern end of the course). The start will seem slower than usual as it's slightly uphill for a couple of miles, so don't panic.
-
• #15338
Ha. Got to laugh when people have improved cda by becoming compliant!
Likewise @danstuff and thanks! Fingers crossed.

H25/8
Everyone here should be aware that the local residents around this course are not happy.
Many people on our side believe the course is overused.
My point is simply that there is a danger that the course may be lost as a result of protests by the residents, so everyone should be on their very best behaviour when using it. This is especially true in relation to parking near the Bentley HQ.

Your post 15320
By 'his' I take it you mean Woody's.
One thing this does show is that by breaking these records one is leaving a mark in the sport's history which may be referred to in the future. And don't we all seek immortality, even if it's only in a small way?
Here's the man riding to victory in that famous 1961 championship. I've taken this from the April 1962 edition of 'Coureur'. I didn't know it was there, I just came across it by chance.

Anyone tried the new body paint 3.3 castelli? Is there a number pocket?
-
• #15342
Looks like the same number "flap" as the v3 from the photos, rather than a pocket
-
• #15343
Ah. So no then.
Thanks. -
• #15344
The endura one does have a number pocket, but then it's £340 odd, so should probably be plated in gold as well!
-
• #15345
Yeah. Just thinking of options to try out, see if they're faster for me.
I need to save some watts. -
• #15346
Helmets probably a better place to test. Do an aerocoach session?
-
• #15347
I'll send you my bank details? Thanks!
Yeah helmets are on my list to try. I don't really have the time now for testing, I'll do it later in the year. I'll just use golden cheetah and Chung analysis. Will be good enough, to see differences.
I reckon there has got to be 20w saving in me somewhere.

The aero arms race does piss me off.
It really favours the MAMIL with disposable income. -
• #15349
When was the last time you were beaten by an aero MAMIL? It's people like me that need to worry!
-
• #15350
Rob keeps beating me!*
But seriously, I just meant people with good paying jobs that can throw cash at the problem.*he's a lot better than me!
That's just unfair.
