I don't think you'd need to go to MakLab for that-I'd just buy something like this:

Drill out for the bolt/washer at the rear to fasten to fork, measure where the bends need to be and pop in a vice to do that nice and cleanly, cut off any remainder. Super cheap and strong and you could bolt on any other clamp you wanted to the front.
Maklab are pretty hands off in terms of helping anyone out if it's not directly related to using the machines-hence why most of the stuff on display ends up being star wars memorabilia relatated : /
I need to measure it. The steerer is 1 1/8" .
Is it a bad idea to try the maklab idea with a 'u' shaped mount using the fender hole at the back of the fork?
