@dammit my recent downsize from a 63 (I'm 200cm) to a 58 has put me on the limit of max extension, but it has meant I can go a full 2cm lower on the front for 'sick aero gains'. Having snapped the seat tube on two previous bikes well within the max extension I'm not fussed. Just a tick to the rules and any issues should be replaced under warranty.
