From experience: the centre stand is really good if your bike is parked and gets driven into by a van driver who didn't see it. Side stand means it's more likely to just drop. Centre stand it'll just skid.

Definitely keeping a centre stand. It's just a question of whether I get a lower one so I'm not obliged to find a sloped surface to use it.
