Offer of space...
I'd go with thicker oil first as that seems to help SV. But take your pick on what amount/air gap to leave. (92-100mm)
Here is a list of fork oil wieghts http://mahonkin.com/~milktree/motorcycle/fork-oil.html

Much obliged. I will take you up on that as long as I hope I'm not imposing. Just gotta collect the rest of the gubbins/parts.
Heavier oil is the plan too. For my weight, a 10w seems recommended, but I do prefer a slightly stiffer ride so might mix and for a 12w, either that or just go for Silkolene 20w.
I'd like to replace the springs as well simply because I've opted for a stiffer shock at the back, and I'd like to balance things out.
Looking to overhaul the front end of the SV as the seals are breaking apart and I imagine the oil hasn't ever been changed. Also want to install some linear springs whilst I'm at it. Anyone know any decent suspension specialist that wouldn't charge a left kidney to do this? I'd do it myself, but I haz no space.
