Ive coated the inside of 2 out of 3 of my steel frames with boiled linseed. The first was done because it had no drainage hole and was collecting some nasty rusty water. The second was because it was brand new and I didnt want the same thing to happen again
I use Dinitrol ML; apparently it's what Bob Jackson use on their frames from new. Not sure whether it makes any difference, but it's cheap and gives me some reassurance.
Quick straw poll. Does anyone here actually do anything to protect the inside of steel frames?
I use linseed oil. Had a frame where the chainstay rusted right through, welded it and left the metal bare except a coat of the stuff as an experiment. No rust after two winters of daily use.
