Can I come along and be rubbish? I'm really slow at the moment.
On the plus side, I'm aiming to come on my cool fixie for the first time* on a TWTNRC.
* I did at one time do Roydon on my road bike without shifting once, but obviously still freewheel.

You can back stop with me. We can have our very own slow race.

• #5
Potentially,
If not @TurtleRecall will ride for me.

Take my spot @Oliver Schick, I can't make it next week. My spot involves making it around with a stupid smile on your face

In pls

Yep, I'm up for it. You better come too! Looks like you'll go right past my road in Hunsdon, so will meet you there, I guess?
Is it ok to ride gears on this one? I haven't ridden my fixed in ages and haven't even looked at the poor thing in about 6 months. If gears are welcome I'll see if my brother's up for it too.

Gears are welcome so long as you behave yourselves. Have a read of the rules... https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/253505/
Thing to remember is that on the flat you can get in a high gear and churn along happy at 25mph forgetting that the fixed riders are spinning like bastards to keep up.
Also, if you bring gears you carry the beers.

City mapper showing 19:11 train is cancelled. If true we'll be on 19:28 arriving at 8pm.
-
• #22
Hm. The National Rail site says that there's a 'disruption' between Liverpool Street and Tottenham Hale. Apparently, this will go on until 8pm. I could ride out if I get going now, but will anyone else be able to get there?

• #23
That settles it i'm going jogging

I agree it's a great opportunity for bed-wetting, except I want to go for a ride. Perhaps Chris could have a look on his City Mapper if the other trains are cancelled, too?
Nationalrail has this:
A failed set of points caused by a track defect is causing disruption to journeys between London Liverpool Street and Tottenham Hale / Chingford. This is expected to continue until 20:00.
Customer Advice:
To minimise congestion caused by restricted train movements to and from London Liverpool Street, the level of Stansted Airport and Hertford East services has been reduced during the evening peak. A number of services will be diverting to start and terminate at Stratford.Customers on these services wishing to travel to London Liverpool Street may use Greater Anglia mainline services from Stratford to London Liverpool Street, and tickets will be valid.
Services will return to the normal timetable once the evening peak is over.
It's not clear which trains are cancelled, though. Perhaps the 7:28 is running? Or a train could be boarded at Stratford?
Up, round then back down. 38 miles of fine and flat rolling. This is a good one for first timers so get involved.
Train from Liverpool St 19:11 arrives Roydon at 19:44
Return trains at 22:13, 22:30, 23:13 and last train 23:44
