Very durable IME: the rubber is pretty thick. I've yet to wear out that part before I've worn out the cleat.
Last time I looked, the difference between regular cleats and aero ones was about a tenner. Over the life of a pair of cleats, that's pretty reasonable to me: not having to remove/re-attach/loose the covers.
And then there's the aeroz!
