  • I'd cut the ends off all the push pins and also take a few mm off the blue rubber bits too, that'll allow you to squish the cover in closer together

  • First year of racing with Power, after starting to train with it last December.
I know what I'm doing training with Power, but no idea how relevant it is when actually racing.

For those of you with power meters, do you look at data as your riding ? If so what values do you have displayed ?
Or do you mostly ignore power readings and ride on feel ?

Did a test ride on a local 10 course at the weekend, mostly rode on feel but also had 3s and 10s power displayed. My NP for the 10 miles was pretty much my FTP - ideally I guess it should be closer to 105% of FTP, but then I've got no idea how closely my indoor power correlates to my outdoor power.

  • Yes.
    NP, maybe 10W average.
    No.

  • Anyone interested in a skinsuit?

It's a smart speedsuit in size medium. It has been upgraded with a nopinz pocket and thumb slots (tunnel testing says more aero than mitts!). It's just too big for me so barely been used.

  • Will probably be shifting my 55t fibreltye if anyone is interested here for cheaps before I double the price for TTF?

  • @umop3pisdn I'm after a 55t fibrelyte but I doubt yours will fit my cranks... What specs?

    Looking for 10sp, single ring, 5bolt 110bcd.

  • Yes, definitely interested. I'll PM.

  • Well it's definitely a single ring... 1/8" 144bcd unfortunately.

  • So I just got rejected from my own club's 25, LVCC on the E2/25.
    My LTS is a 59.55 which I struggled through while injured - I think I can do a 55/56 on the E2.

Problem is that I'm away for the only two 25s on the E2 that I'm likely to get a place on (ECCA and Shaftesbury MM).

Is the Bentley course likely to be as popular and are there any 'gateway' courses that I might be able to improve my LTS on? I suit a flat course and enjoy DCs (weird I know) but don't have a car so the need to be accessible by public transport from East London.

  • In exactly the same boat.

Do you know the cutoff time? I took the email as a rejection but it doesn't actually say so.

  • I think there were a few events that filled on Bentley last season, but i'd have thought you'd be fine with <60 minutes. Easy to get to by rail.

  • That's true actually, interesting wording. @dbr did you get the email?

  • You have Eastern Counties (or whatever it's called) events on the same course that only you can enter.

I was going to race that but to be honest just can't be arsed. Nailed all the club recs last year has left me a bit like "well I could knock a couple of seconds off but, all that time and effort for 49mins of 'fun'"

  • I got this:

    *Dear CTT Entrant,
Thank you for your entry to the Lea Valley Open 25.
We have had an unprecedented interest in this event resulting in over 230 entries. Therefore the cut off entry time is very competitive.
Apologies if you have been rejected this time.
We will be publishing the start sheet by end of 1/4/17.

    Thanks

I took it to mean it's competitive but I'll find out by the 1st...

  • It's your chairman here( Edward ) . Sorry to hear that. We may get some DNS.
Otherwise are your free to marshal?

  • Just seen the other posts about the E2 /25 ..Yes , it's very competitive .. As are our E1 events.

CJR- I think the Shaftesbury/ECCA are doing more 25s on the E1. When I find the information I will pop it on the forum/ FB page.

  • @Peter_Carter it appears I miss read the email. I may still have a spot, fingers crossed.
I'll be volunteering to marshall some of the tues tens.

  • Thanks , there's always the Bill Major

Do you need a lift out there ?

  • That's the problem with the E2. There were so many fast 25s on it a couple of years ago that now a) everyone has a low LTS, and b) every man and his dog (incl the people with the low LTS) want to ride it. I can't get onto it with a mid-56 and I'm too fast for the MM event. Joined the VTTA now so will hopefully get a ride this year after missing out last.

  • Got a reserve place for LVCC. What does that mean, I've never been one before? Turn up before the first person off and wait till a slot comes available?

  • you usually here before the race if you have a place, as a good number of people will decide before hand if they cant ride it and let the organiser know who, will in turn let you know, inlcuding your start time. the one time i was a reserve i found out 15 minutes before i needed to set off from home which made the 1 hour drive a little less stressful!

  • Call me moral, but if you're breaking a rule and gaining a performance advantage. That's cheating, just like taking your mates prednisolone.

  • He seems like a nice guy carving out a niche in the market, looking at the pictures he is so far over it seems a bit naiive to not be somewhere compliant especially given he's on a team with someone who takes an interest in putting poeple in fast positions for tts.

  • He is so far forward on the bike he is almost falling off the front of it.

  • Time trialling will be dead in a few years. What a fucking barrier to entry for new people. Ah sorry mate, of elbows are 3cm in front... huh!?
    How boring.
