I heard from an überhipster (actually a dork ... it's hard to tell) that 'bottle dynamos' (the ones that run on the tyre) are no longer shite, because they don't actually run on the tyre any more, but have a rubbery drivewheel that is sprung-loaded onto your braking surface - less slippage, lower resistance, better.
You'll all be ditching your schmancy SPs & SONs and getting one soon. Lo Fi is Mo Fi.
