The last time I removed some Power Torque cranks I ended up using an angle grinder. And buying some new cranks.

A long shot x post from RR thread -
last ditch effort before I ride 20 miles to the start - is anyone driving to Chelmer Road Race from London on Sunday for the 2/3/4 race and could give me a lift? I'd be more than happy to pay petrol + driving costs if someone was willing.
Thanks

Where are those NOS PT cranks for £60 you speak of?
-
• #82810
Sorry, I meant the UT ones!
-
• #82811
you can get NOS UT from eBay for similar.

is there an easy way to tell which one I need?
Campag is well documented on their own web site, look at the spare parts pdf and order by the part number.

That's great - cheers!

I'd be bidding on that lot to use it for spares, if I was thusly in love with a 30yo clock.

Would the cost of a new freehub outweigh the extra cost of Campag cassettes over Shimano/SRAM? 11sp Campag works with Shimano 11sp
-
• #82817
I don't understand what you're asking? It is a campag wheel but with a shimano freehub
-
• #82818
He means, if it's 11 speed you can use either Shimano or Campag cassettes anyway.
-
• #82819
ah, it is 10 speed Shimano i'm using.

Has any company made a pair of titanium drop bars in 25.4 or 26mm clamp?

XACD, but there's a reason why it's a rare choice for handlebars.

Horribly flexy?
I'm doing a show off fixie track bike build and it's already got a ti stem and post so I thought I may as well give it some more. May steer clear of them then I guess.

Horribly flexy?
Bingo.
If you're making a show off fixie, maybe go for a chrome nitto track drop instead?

Depends how much material you use.
The big problem with Ti is that the strong grades are not ductile, so cold bending them into a drop bar shape is hard. There are ways of solving that problem, but you end up with something which is both more expensive and worse performing than either aluminium or carbon fibre, so it's a bit pointless.
If you want some more Ti bling, get yourself some Morati cranks, if you can find some which aren't broken yet :)

Bingo.
Bunkum. If you use the same profile as aluminium, you end up with about 25% more stiffness, and if you're using 3Al2.5V (as you probably have to, to get the ductility) in place of 7075 aluminium, you have to use the same profile as the yield strength is hardly any better. Once you've done that, you end up with something as strong as a high quality aluminium bar and a bit stiffer, but 50% heavier and about 4 times the price.
Nope.
