Long time veggie (32 years, minus a few years or eating meat in the last few years) here, and I've just watched the Simon Amstell thing and instantly realised that I can't do dairy or eggs anymore. Do people supplement protein? I tend to have a whey shake most days but have been trying to switch to snacking on nuts recently. I find taking protein helps my recovery when I'm doing midweek intervals, so think I should probably try and keep topping it up. I grew up veggie and have a veggie son so am well used to cooking/eating with lentils, tofu etc but my only concern is 'on-the-go' protein sources.
I'm expecting to drop a few kg from not eating cheese anymore, as long as I don't replace it with crisps...
OK cool. I don't supplement much, just got into the habit of having a whey shake to keep me going during the day but won't miss it. Aldi do a good line in fake nakd bars with added protein. Would recommend.
