You can use a hose with syringe attached (IIRC) but be careful as mine fell off and pissed fluid everywhere.
It's a weird design choice and was my first experience of setting up/bleeding hydro brakes.
Helped my mate build his SRAM Rival disc bike more recently and that's got sensible screw on hoses and syringes which are a lot neater and less prone to popping off for no reason.
It should be noted that I'm a rank amateur, so maybe proper mechanics don't have the same idiot problems that I do.

I have a little adapter screw thing from epic bleed solutions which does the trick, but maybe I will get one of those shimano funnel things
oddly the brake and caliper were completely fine. put the bleed block in after a clean of the pistons and de-oil with some isopropanol and there didnt feel like there was any air in the system at all. cleaned the disc and new pads - all sorted
I guess these pads really are worn? after seeing @hippy 's I thought these had quite a bit of life left in them, guess not. maybe my new rotors are a bit thinner too so the drop in performance was amplified
any 3rd parties sell pads for these brakes or best stick to shimano own ones?
do you mean the other way around?
is adapter "D" important? or can I just use the normal hose
