Aye, fair points. Have been meaning to replace them for a bit now but was hoping to get to spring proper before putting new kit on bike.
Bit late now but let's hope it isn't a disastous problem with the cassette - just leaving for a 220km ride :)
By the time you've got hold of the new parts and fitted them, it'll be spring proper. (Assuming you live in the UK and not some frozen wasteland like Antarctica, or Grimsby.)
Skipping gears maybe but I seen worse.
Just check the rims wear first, no point in worrying about freehub/cassette when rims is worn out.
